The Department of Materials Engineering at the University of Technology awarded a master's degree to the student, Duaa Sabah Shames , Department of Materials Engineering / University of Technology for her thesis titled.

 "Fabrication and characterization of Multifunctional Coating on Stainless Steel Implan

Whereas, the discussion took place in the postgraduate hall in Building B in the department on Tuesday, 3/8/2023 at nine o'clock in the morning, and the discussion committee consisted of ladies and Gentlemen

In addition to scientifically evaluating the dissertation by Prof. Dr. Enas Huhi Hadi  Mustafa/ University of Technology/ Department of Applied Science Engineering, and asst. Prof. Dr. Issra Qahtan Sabri / University of Babylon/ College of Materials Engineering, and linguistically by a Lect.. Dr. Ali Abdulkareem Muhsin / University of Technology/ Department of Materials Engineering

After the discussion committee recorded its observations on the thesis, which were in between explanation and correction, the student's defense of her thesis, and the end of the discussion, the committee decided to evaluate the thesis, and decided to grant the student a master's degree with a Pass Grade

Abstract:

The study aims to improve the osseointegration of 316L stainless steel while maintaining its good mechanical properties, by applying a modified hybrid coating layer of a PMMA-based compound with different amounts of silver NP and biologically active ceramic particles as reinforcing materials on 316L stainless steel by depositing a bonding coating layer by the electroless AgNP method and top coating by electrostatic spray deposition (ESD) with different ratios of (PMMA and NiO). The coating process was successful with multiple layers on the 316L stainless steel substrate and the resistance to corrosion.
